Moomba 2025 details coming soon!
The Moomba action at Riverslide Skate Park will see young athletes tear up the skate park across skateboarding, inline, quad, scooter and BMX.
The five-day event, running Thursday 6 March – Monday 10 March 2025, is open to everyone. We welcome all skill levels and offer the opportunity to compete for top prizes and rankings.
Opening our exciting weekend is the Community Inline and Quad Jam. With a strong focus on participation and an emphasis on inclusion, inviting inline skaters young and old to come together.
The top three participants in skateboarding, scooter and BMX disciplines will be awarded with prize money. It will be split equally between female and male categories.
BMX and scooter male and female riders will have the opportunity to be part of the SPL Grand Final. For skateboarders, this event will be part of the Australian Skateboarding League. Skateboarding junior categories will have the opportunity to compete on Saturday. On Sunday only the skateboarding open category will take place, showcasing the highest level of skateboarding in the heart of the city.
Please note: In the case where it is clear that the weather (rain / hot weather) or other external conditions will not allow the completion of the intended competition format, the Technical Delegate (after discussing with the Event Director) may opt to apply an alternate competition format or postpone the competition start depending on participant numbers.
If the competition format changes (depending on the competition round of application and provided that equal opportunities have been granted to all competitors) all athletes competing in a single heat will complete a first run then try and complete the second run and so on. If the competition has to be stopped, the round ranking will be established based on the completed runs (for example the same number of runs are considered for all athletes).
This system also applies to the 2/5/3 skateboarding competition format. If the competition has to be stopped, all skaters will be marked as DNS in the interrupted run or trick and the final ranking will be established based upon the number of runs or tricks that all skaters have completed
